According to Express Entry, the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW) is one of three programs. The FSW uses a different scoring system besides the CRS score. Sometimes when someone is referring to Canada's immigration points, they refer to FSW points. Before calculating the CRS score, all FSW candidates must meet at least FSW eligibility requirements. This is determined by an individual's FSW score, an immigration scoring system that is completely separate from the CRS score.
The FSW score network is 100 points. To be eligible to submit an Express Entry Profile, all FSW candidates must score at least 67 points out of 100. These topics include age, education, language skills, work experience and relationships with Canada. Although this may be equivalent to CRS points, candidates receive different amounts of points for these factors at FSW than CRS points.
Beating 67 out of 100 for FSW points opens the door to the Express Entry Pool. Only when someone has scored the lowest score will they be eligible to receive their CRS score.
In particular, the other two express entry customs programs, FST and CEC, do not use separate scoring systems to calculate eligibility. For these two programs, candidates must meet only a list of the minimum qualification requirements.
